A Pickle's Nightmare

The job was to create a short clip of animation using shrink and stretch to convey depth and size. As for the reason I chose the pickle, I wanted an object that could be quick to move and always be manipulated in an strange way.

Programs Used:

Adobe Illustrator / Animate / AfterEffects

Garageband

Due to the shrink and stretch of the pickle, the background too would have to show depth. Using two-point perspective was a simple, yet effective way to showcase that goal.

From beginning to final product there was not a significant difference. I thought he needed more detail and less alert. The cut up layer was created by using the eraser tool in Illustrator.

Each hand is in it's own layer. There is more shading in the hands, to make them stand out.

The curves and dots above were used for expressions. The left side was when I attempted for him to blink. The dots were used for the eyes to grow and shrink. Finally, the right marks are the mouth during the scream.

I thoroughly enjoyed using all of the programs to complete this 'structure' and problem solve to figure out how creating it would work. If I could redo this piece, I would redo the hands holding the burger. After it was all said and done I noticed the hands are facing the wrong side. If you did not realize that before, then I do not think you can unsee it.
